Happy New Year!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you and your families had a wonderful winter break. Thank you so much to all of the parents and children who gifted me with wonderful holiday goodies and gifts. A special thank you to Alysa's grandma who not only made  up a wonderful stocking for me, but also came and helped with our craft on the Thursday before break. In addition, I want to thank Lexi's mom who put together our quilt for Mrs. Antoniono's baby. They love it and use it daily!

Our new project is... Plants and Animals: How Do They Do That? We will be learning about plants and animals including their structures and functions. Students will create an interactive slide show with a partner about an animal they will choose/be assigned. We will have a presentation of these slide shows in early February and will let you know when we have a specific date.

We have added a new pet to our classroom. Her name is Noodles and she is a ball python. She is about 3.5 feet long and the students will be meeting her today. We will learn about reptiles and care of such a pet. This is a nice introduction to our study of animals. Tomorrow, I will be dissecting a frog in front of both 4th grade classes as we learn about animal structures and their functions.

Let's all stay healthy as we begin this new year.
Ms. Williams
